Holy Crapcakes

So, I get back from space-armor-undersuit shopping (after failed space-armor-undersuit-making #1 last night) and I'm like, hmm I might check my e-mail!

*checks e-mail*

WOW where did all these e-mails come from did I get hacked?! Wait...this one is from...wait.....wait..........

Well, here's my answer!!

http://kotaku.com/5560453/this-could-be-the-beginning-of-a-beautiful-mass-effect-2-cosplay

We got on Kotaku!!! One of my good friends was kind enough to send them a link with my video, and they were kind enough to throw us on their blog.

Also, I've been getting so many freaking amazing comments from all over the internet. Form other costumers, Mass Effect fans, from people from Bioware, to even Matt Rhodes (I love your art Matt! And seriously, Reboot was an awesome show.)

So most sincerely, and seriously, thank you, everyone, for watching us make these awesome characters into costumes! I promise to have a lot more super cool posts and videos before they're all done! Grunt's armor is up next, and we've already started on a few parts!

Also, this goes out to you Bioware folks, because you guys really do tell the best stories and make the best games out there. I've played them all, and I remember fighting my best friend Sophomore year in high school over who got to play Baldur's Gate for only 10 minutes before school. They're completely artwork, not just games.

Anyway, I have to clean the house still, and I still have costumes to make!!! I'll get to all of the lovely comments and e-mails tonight....So thanks everyone, and expect some finished Shepard pics before Saturday!

Congrats! The costume looks AMAZING. I actually interviewed you over a year ago about your Warlock costume for my blog Convention Fans. I'd love to do a follow up interview. :)

This comment is totally my favorite - apparently you are:

Found your blog thru Reddit, hope you win! Krogan head looks awesome!

Congratulations on the coverage, I just saw it on Kotaku, you very much deserve it. Your animatronic Grunt is one of the best pieces I have seen outside of Stan Winston. Here's hoping that this gets you where you are hoping to be. Keep up the excellent work.

P.S. As much as I love the Mass Effect costumes, I still have to say my favorite was your Lady of Pain costume from last year. Planescape: Torment may be my favorite game of all time.

Oh My....

The Krogen head has got to be, by far the coolest thing I have seen! It's just.... WOW!

Best of luck with Comic Con and the remaining costumes.

(Looking forward to more pics (and video?))

Yay! You totally deserve all the praise you get!

Whoa, you heard from people at BioWare? And Matt Rhodes himself? Eek! That's really cool.

I've noticed a few other Comic-Con documentary audition videos on YouTube, but none of them are as cool as yours. Seriously.

Agreed on the BioWare sentiments. They're just the best.

Found your blog off a Kotaku post that was linked from Reddit. I got to say, Keep on rocking out with your non-existent cock out! Seriously you and your friends are doing a freaking bang up job! I don't cosplay and usually make a snide joke at the friends who send me links to cosplay photo galleries, but seriously you guys need to be working in Hollywood.

Mass Effect 1/2 are two brilliant games. I've been saying to my friends they don't just have a good story for a video game they have a good story for the SCI FI genera. I give you props for representing the huge loyal fan base of these games in a deserving manner. Congrats on being acknowledged by Bioware, I agree they are an awesome company that has made great games consistently.

Best of luck to you and your friends and I hope to hell you guys get the attention you deserved. On a side note there are plenty of directors that favor stock-motion/physical promos over CG I hope you guys catch their notice.

again in closing, Keep on keeping it weird!

The competition doesn't stand a chance now :) btw, cwgabriel of penny arcade just tweeted ur blog, so you've turned important heads.

Let me just start out by saying that all of this attention you've been getting lately is richly deserved. I'm sorry to say I didn't find out about your ME2 cosplay project until Gabe of Penny Arcade tweeted about it, but goddamn am I glad I did. You're giving hope to nerds everywhere!

I'm no industry expert, but I think you'd make a crack member of any special effects/costuming team. Thank Al Gore for the Internet, because without it I'd never have known you were out there engaging in such an epic undertaking.

Best of luck in everything! Truly, you are a beacon of hope for nerds everywhere.

First time I won't be going to Comic-Con in a few years, regretting I can't get a photo op with you guys =(

Holy crap. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. You guys are amazing. I can't wait to see the final results. And if you have more making-of videos that would be awesome. Of course i'm just posting a comment after only having seen a quick post on kotaku... I should probably read the rest of your blog now.
Cheers!

I'm doing a PhD in robotics and I'd like to collaborate with you maybe write a paper that includes your experiences with masks and the uncanny valley. Would you be interested in something like that?

Cannot wait to see those new Shepard pics, carry on and good luck :)

I just wanted to say that I wish you and your band of nutters the very BEST of luck. The costumes are fantastic and the dedication is awe-inspiring; if I lived closer I'd love to grab a glue gun and help (or hinder, depending on one's opinion of me and a glue gun). Please post more progress pics and video!

Did Bioware offer to fly you and your pals out to E3? If not, they are wasting a brilliant opportunity! Such craftsmanship.

Thanks you you guys for being such inspirations!
